“As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as he had come on us at the beginning. Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ So if God gave the same gift as he gave us, who was I to think that I could oppose God?” (Acts 11:15-17 NIV)
News
Something new was in the air and once news spread, red flags appeared. This group policing religion, failed seeing the relationship. Peter explained quickly. Sound familiar? What’s best to do in this circumstance? Tell the truth in love. We cannot help how individuals will respond. We would like all to receive this new expansion of God’s power. It’s our choice to believe or not, accept or oppose.
Questioning
After Peter’s vision, he seemed troubled questioning God. God purposed Peter that day to spread His Word to the Gentiles. It was against all he had been taught and believed. Being sensitive to the Holy Spirit, Peter felt God’s nudge to move forward. When we move forward, we experience astonishing circumstances. God’s power is not limited.
Oppose
Times when we’ve shared our miracle story, you can see individuals oppose by closing their minds. Others rejoice in God’s miracle. Just as Peter- who do we think we are to oppose God? Peter did not stop with salvation, He had all baptized with water. As we grow spiritual seeds within, we study and learn God’s Word. Then when leaps of faith are taken under The Holy Spirit’s direction, we’ll have confidence to explain to all inquiring minds.
Miracles, Signs, and Wonder
As we move forward in days ahead, awakening from slumber, positioning ourselves to believe- we are going to see more miracles, signs, and wonders. We may not only see, we may be the ones experiencing. Wouldn’t this be exciting! Just as exciting when Peter was directed to visit Cornelius’s house. God is so good!
Be encouraged!
