Opposition- Walking Away Unharmed With God

But I call to God, and the Lord saves me. Evening, morning, and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice. He ransoms me unharmed from the battle raged against me, even though many oppose me. (Psalm 55:16-18 NIV)

Opposition

Forward Friday! Get ready, get set, let’s go! We have zero time to wallow over opposition. King David’s life sets many examples in order to encourage ourselves. Forces of opposition against him stirred anguish within causing fear and trembling. How many times do we wish God could lift us out of situations having wings of a dove. To be like David desiring to hurry to our place of shelter, far from the tempest and storm.

Reality

Reality, no wings of doves appear. Opposition is faced with our own strength or call to God. We’re able to have the same relationship with Jesus as David had with God. He proved calling out to God, saves. Whatever time of day or night, God is going to hear our voices. We walk away unharmed. These are words to soothe any battle wounds.

A Win-Win-Win!

It comes down to this…accepting God’s gracious offer. God offers to be Abba Father. He’s alpha and Omega, beginning and end. Jesus offers to be Savior, Redeemer, and Restorer. For those who follow His commands, He’s our friend. The Holy Spirit offers to be counselor, teacher and Spirit of truth. A win-win-win in all circumstances, against any opposition.

Moving Forward

Sometimes the battle rages within to follow Christ or be lured into sin. Allowing opposition from forces of evil to trip a nice straight walk. I do not think we’re ever far from opposition. However, knowing who we can call- to be completely trustworthy, is our key to overcoming. Are you ready to move forward, walking away from opposition unharmed? It’s possible to those who call to God! He will save.
