Church: Readiness or Societal Confusion?

Church: Readiness or Societal Confusion? And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” (Luke 10:2 ESV)

Unknown Territory

Forward Friday! Wishing to encourage you with one of my favorite worship songs. Will we be a church ready? Words of this song zeroes in on my heart’s cry for God’s church. When first stepping into my God given purpose, I was so far out in unknown territory, trembling with a faint flashlight…joining other laborers.

Focal Point

It takes time to narrow a focal point. With each layer removed, knowledge gained, confidence built, months of planning clicked. I’ll never forget being at Blue Ridge Christian Writer’s Conference in Dr. Jeff Brown’s class. We were practicing media sound bites and it was like Jesus himself drew a bullseye and circled it for me.

The Church

I cannot separate men from women, adults from children, or right from left; we are all part of God’s church. God’s church is made up of imperfect people in need of a Savior, Jesus Christ. We take our imperfections surrendering all to Christ and start a spiritual journey. Maybe this is the part most misunderstood-leaving behind old, robed in God’s righteousness. A child of royalty, moving closer to God’s throne. It’s like touching the hem of Jesus’s garment- tapping into His power to heal all areas in our life.

Societal Confusion

The Church. Instead of He washed our sins away…so many want to sing…keep our sin alive- with love, we’ll justify, singing every day. This produces societal confusion. The harvest waiting and new believers seeking- quickly sense the disingenuous being produced by believers perceived to be mature, filled with the world.

Compromise?

Thankfully, we have Pastors not compromising God’s Word, The Bible. We need to pray for them more than ever. For all compromising pastors- may God convict their hearts and bring clarity to blurred Truth. For believers- hunger and thirst after righteousness. There is nothing in this world worth causing a brother to stumble.

Harvest

Let’s move forward in our spiritual journeys, stepping deeper, growing in wisdom and knowledge. More we seek, more we find…you never know how God is going to stretch you to embrace and yield to His call. Can there be more? Yes. The harvest is plentiful- we need more laborers. Are you willing?  We need a church ready, like a bride waiting for her groom.

Be encouraged!
