Testimony: Overcoming With God’s Power

They overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. (Revelation 12:11 NIV)

Staying Motivated! 

Motivating Monday! How about face something in our lives that needs to be overcome? The longer we go overcoming, more motivated we are to overcome. Except, I failed this weekend. It’s like I explained to my two younger children- If not wanting to get wet, avoid being by water. In their instance, if they do not want the other one to respond to their aggravation, they better not aggravate. I better stop making cookies!

Overcome

We can try all our might, and muster limited power. Yet, to truly overcome, we overcome by the blood of the lamb and by the word of our testimony. Time spent in prayer and fasting is seeking God’s power- where there is power in the blood. There is power in the precious blood of the lamb. I’m forever grateful for my childhood church. The old hymns resound in my soul. However, nothing made me more nervous than being called to testify. I would stand grasping pew in front of me, praying…”God, please don’t let them call on me.” Could it have been fear? Just not mature enough to understand spiritual warfare.

Power

The devil is never happy for God to be praised and glorified. So he releases fear, keeping believers from sharing their testimony. Satan knows God’s power will be released. With God’s power we overcome. That is…if we accept Jesus as our personal savior, seeking him with pure hearts. Limited power – God’s power? I choose God’s power. How about you?
