Spiritual Highs: Gaining Strength Through Obedience

Spiritual Highs: Gaining Strength Through ObedienceMany are asking, “Who can show us any good?” Let the light of your face shine upon us, O Lord. You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound. (Psalm 4:6,7 NIV)

Spiritual Highs

Motivating Monday! The search is over! No happy pill necessary. This is even better than grain and new wine. King David had problems, yet seems this area was held in great perspective. When God’s light shines upon us, we’re infused with this natural source of…a mixture of excitement and energy, more like spiritual highs.

Strength or Weakness?

The Holy Spirit empowers and strengthens a person. When one is empowered and strengthened, positive energy is mulitplied. While drugs and alcohol suppress, satan succeeds in diverting God’s goodness. Satan takes what God developed for good-counterfieiting, causing individuals to weaken. Why choose paths leading to weakness, when spiritual highs lead to good things. How does one reach a spiritual high?

Obedience

Obedience is the key to having a Spiritual high. Yesterday, not exactly sure direction to take with morning, I asked God to direct our path. Resolving to take morning calm, I listened for God’s directions. Tuning my ears, I was prepared to feel nudge in direction to take. Not rushing out door like I wanted, I took time to fix my daughter’s requested bagel.

Never Know…

Next, went ahead and stopped at Panera. There I was in line behind two young men. Just at the time I arrived, they were going to discard their order to find an ATM. Their meal became paid. Then found out one guy would begin bootcamp tomorrow- Today, Monday. He wanted time with his best buddy before leaving. Oh my! Such an honor to help this new solider and with God’s anointing- declared safety over him for all days of his service. Was this chance- no way. God wanted those words spoken over him. Obedience- beamed within…a wow moment for me.

Yielding

Imagine all we get to be part of yielding to God’s guidance. My day did not stop there…we’re out of town, searching for a church service. Dismissed ones perviously thought and landed- hearing the most awesome sermon. A fresh word on the prodigal son. He went from gimme- gimme to please make me your servant. Powerful!

Motivating Monday!

Being part of God’s plan, following through with obedience- forsaking all worldly ideology…leads to the most amazing experiences. Bubbling joy and excitement from within- allows the light of God’s face to shine upon us- priceless. Be motivated to ask God to guide your path, I know I need to ask more often. His ways are so much better.

Be encouraged!
