For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. (2Timothy 1:6,7 ESV)
Gift
Do you feel a gift stirring within? If not, time to sink or swim. Start swimming fast, I do not want anyone sinking. Consider this for a moment…visualize time and distance trained swimmers cover vs. one sinking. Sinking ships become ineffective, so do individuals. Every individual has been born with an unique gift from God.
Sparks
A gift stays dormant until sparks begin from seeking more of Jesus. Jesus Christ, son of God, son of Mary, friend of sinners, teacher to disciples, healer to sick and dying, life to the dead. He calls us friend, if we follow His commands. This takes courage- willing to break from crowd, allowing The Holy Spirit to draw us closer. We learn about God’s character- His sovereignty over all creation.
Purpose
Since God purposed our gift before we were in our mother’s womb, I’d day- we’re intricately woven into God’s master plan for now and eternity. Therefore, quicker we identify our gift, we move forward with purpose. Identify and accept our gift, like adding pieces to a puzzle.
Unique
With different gifts, we each have unique paths. Yet, these unique paths lead to amazing friendships waiting as God connects this particular group of the body. For me, it took prayer and fasting. Being obedient in small and large quest. We’re not going to have it all together in the beginning. This is why it is so important to let God lead. He knows who best to connect us with. Never in a million years…would I have imagined communicating with brothers and sisters around America and around the world.
Nudge
I love each and every one of you. I want your gift fanned into a flame. Seek wise counsel, asking for prayer. The Holy spirit kept nudging me toward pastor’s call for need to come pray. Seems we were towards end of a 21 day fast. “Vicki, don’t you have a need?” “No, I do not have anything.” “Vicki, don’t you have a book to publish?” The Holy Spirit and I kept bantering back and forth. “Yes, I guess I better go.” Thankful The Holy Spirit won this battle enraging my heart. There at the alter…how little did I know…The Holy Spirit led the Pastor to release destiny over me. Immediately, doors began opening for me to attend writing conferences. It’s been amazing! I still have lots to learn and steps forward to take. We have to be diligent to stay the course. Let’s begin fusing these unique gifts together and see Jesus revealed.
Be encouraged!
