“As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and another thirty.” (Matthew 13:23 ESV)
Motivating Monday! Continuing talk about hearing and understanding makes me think about my father. Fall time is one of my favorites. We had so much fun hosting hayrides and hot dog roasts. Back then we thought cool to clean out the grain truck. Walls kept everyone safe and such a hoot when my father would tilt the bed back. Rich childhood memories melt my heart.
All childhood memories are not so pleasant when I failed to hear and lacked understanding. Same with our Heavenly Father’s plans for us. He has specific lined- out plans that if we follow- we will reap the hundredfold type blessings. While distant and fading childhood memories of learning scripture and attending church be dismissed with a growing number of adults, our Father’s love remains. He longs for His children to hear and understand. God’s Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path.
Every wrong turn is redeemed. Love bears all things, believes all things, and endures all things. Our Father’s love is higher than mountains and deeper than valleys. His love expands any excuse imaginable for rejecting His direction. Sin yanks us further from God, as obedience draws us closer. Scripture resonating in hearts and minds are The Holy Spirit’s plea to grasp hold of God’s hand pulling each one from satan’s grip.
Who do you know gripped by satan? Who seems to be wondering with lack of direction? We all need help from time to time. Let’s be motivated to hear and understand God’s Word in order to bear fruit and yields of hundredfold, sixty, or thirty. Released from any grip- creating amazing memories. Who’s with me?
