For fasle Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect- if that were possible. See, I have told you ahead of time. (Matthew 24:24,25 NIV)
Excuses
Dear friends, we will have no other excuse for being deceived than our lack of studying God’s Word. Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives responding to the disciples desire to know signs of Jesus’s return and end of the age.
Ideologies
I sat next to a gentleman listening to him explain his own ideology of hell- represents all personal ideologies in today’s times. For him, there is no devil or hell- there are personal hells that envelope each individual. He had Word knowledge being raised in church. So…where do individuals decide to stop believing in faith of their childhood and develop their own ideology? How do we turn individuals back to Jesus?
Word Knowledge
The only way to Heaven is through Jesus Christ. In John 1:1- we understand in the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God, He was with God in the beginning. Through this understanding, we believe The Word became flesh, Jesus came full of grace and truth. More we seek scripture, more we learn truth about Jesus- gaining direction for life.
Challenge
While Biblical Truth is being challenged- false prophets and false accusations of Christ’s appearance will distort truth. However, just as Elijah questioned, “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” Interesting all the prophets of Baal became quiet. Elijah being one person challenged 450 prophets of Baal. You likely remember the rest of the story found in 1Kings 18. The Lord proved to be true.
Truth
My question today- Would we be willing to challege 450 false prophets? Are we willing to present truth in love to the person next to us? Do we know truth? All these questions point to our need to deepen Word knowledge. When false prophets fail being tested, direct individuals to Jesus Christ- who will never leave or forsake- He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He is faithful.
Be encouraged!
