Steadfast Spirit: A Willing Spirit, Pure Heart

Steadfast Spirit: A Willing Spirit, Pure HeartCreate in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. (Psalm 51:10-12 NIV)

Steadfast

Key words in today’s scripture: pure heart, steadfast spirit, restore joy of salvation, willing spirit, sustain me. King David saw many ups and downs. As I see America going through same, I question if worse now than previous down times. All arrows are pointing…YES! Are more people deceived today than ever in history?

Deception

We celebrated freedom on Monday, and more loss of justice on Tuesday. And…the saddest part- individuals are blind and/or ignoring facts. When a person is physically blind, they cannot see. When a person is spiritually blind- they cannot see, as one able to see, yet enveloped by spirit of deception. There is enough of God’s truth to make one think it’s legit. Yet, any measurement of deception makes truth inaccurate.

Grey Areas

Many want grey areas today. I did once, recovering from my second back surgery, fusing L3-4 disc. It was easier for me to stand and wash my hair in the shower than show up on time for my hair appointment. In my mind, I felt like minutes late were just minutes my hair would have been washed. This was not how my hair stylist felt and refused to cut my hair. I am standing in a back brace, making 200% effort to get to the salon, needless to say…I was not happy.

Clear-cut

When individuals stand firm on clear cut issues, refusing grey areas…people become angered. Biblical Truth is clear cut. Jesus says, “But whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father in heaven.” (Matthew 10:33 ESV) To deny Jesus before men- we are denying God’s Word. Jesus is the Word- satan is the world. The only way to rise above world deception- become steadfast in God’s Word, Jesus Christ.

Sustained

Ask family, friends, co-workers, and self daily keeping check on heart conditions. We’re avoid deception if willing to renew a steadfast spirit within. The joy of the Lord is our strength. Jesus, please restore the joy of your salvation in every individual. May we all have a willing heart, to be sustained. We need this more daily. Dear Jesus, I pray this prayer over every reader and may today’s truth flow through each reader to every interaction. In Jesus’s name, Amen.

Be encouraged!
