Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. (Isaiah 55:6 NIV)
Forward Friday! Missed you all Wednesday! I declared a marathon week- in finishing out a few rooms I began redecorating last spring. It truly has felt like a marathon, staying focused on the end result. This is much like in life- what will be our end result.
Considering end result…What needs to happen today, ensuring desired result? What do you want to happen? We either base decision on being a Christian, which means believing in God’s infallible Word or rejecting Jesus for the world. The only way to Heaven is through Jesus Christ. Founding Fathers pursued freedom of religion- they did not intend acceptance of false religions. False religions offer various versions of Jesus or counterfeits for The Messiah. Accepting and believing Jesus died on the cross, raised three days later will save us.
Spiritual journeys do not end with salvation. They’re just beginning. While Jesus may still be found, seek him while He is near. Even though Jesus is not physically sitting across from us, He is near us at all times. The Holy Spirit lives within our hearts every second of the day. As we respond to those ‘nudges’, we’re led in truth down a straight path. The more we seek, more we find. Applying more truths, more hearts will transform reflecting Christ. The result, we’re trusted to be His hands and feet in midst of societal confusion.
As Isaiah continues in this chapter: Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. This is what has amazed me most during 2016 election season- society and Christians alike, holding judgement over President-Elect Trump than understanding God’s involvement in surrounding Trump with God-honoring Spiritual Leaders.
Let’s move forward being more than surface Christians, let’s seek Jesus while He can still be found. Seeking is key to unlocking one of the greatest mysteries of all times. When we find…it’s no mystery at all. We’ve found the best friend ever can be, He is faithful.
