Societal Confusion: Discerning Good vs. Evil

Societal Confusion: Discerning Good vs. EvilDo not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a “fool” so that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. (1 Corinthians 3:18, 19a NIV)

Societal Confusion

Twinkling lights and sugary sweets, may have our minds consumed- let’s not forget an enemy lurking with a quota to meet. Major movements over the years have been empowering individual ideologies, creating a wall of false wisdom in today’s world. As societal confusion increases, those wise by world standards believe Bible believing Christians are fools. Satan takes Biblical Truth and twists enough to counterfeit, adding to societal confusion.

Deceived

Scripture informs…if we believe in the world’s wisdom, we are deceived. Instead of supporting standards in this age, accept being “foolish” in order to become wise. The problem is…more are placing effort into climbing social circles, than seeking Jesus becoming part of his inner circle. Yes, Jesus calls these individuals his friends. They follow His commands. When following God’s commands, we have a defined foundation to base all beliefs. Then we succeed in discerning good vs. evil, God’s wisdom vs. Foolishness(wisdom of this world). Understanding this truth will have a profound impact on standing our ground in days ahead.

Study

Studying God’s Word begins by asking Jesus to help us understand. The enemy will try his best to keep many blind as possible. Satan knows people perish without knowledge. Perishing is defined as suffering death, typically in a violent, sudden, or untimely way. When functioning in our own wisdom, we’re being deceived. Time spent in God’s Word, gaining Spiritual insights, applied to daily decisions…allows wisdom to direct choices made. James says if anyone lacks wisdom, ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given (James 1:5).

Wisdom

We need wisdom more than ever, avoiding deception. It’s imperative to discern between good vs. evil to have clarity in midst of societal confusion. When HRC begins talking about fake news, we’ll know immediately evil is underlying- permeating lies. I trust God is shining light on all darkness and truth is being revealed. This is where we can place our hope. Jesus is the only true hope we have. Dear friends, let’s not be deceived.

Be encouraged!
