Sinful Cravings: Satan’s Grip Devouring

Sinful Cravings: Satan's Grip DevouringFor everything in the world- the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does- comes not from the Father, but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. (1 John 2:16, 17 NIV)

Understanding…

Some may wonder when referring to the world, how does this make sense. In understanding Christianity, there is a defining line in world desires vs. God’s teachings; condemnation vs. forgiveness, orphaned vs. adopted, lost vs. found, defeat vs. victory, death vs. life. Wow! Looks like I just typed chapter titles for my book. We could think of many more differences between the world vs. Christianity. When Lucifer was kicked out of Heaven, he was sent to rule the world. His time is limited, yet, he is making every effort to grip individuals into deception so he can devour. Those indifferent and slumbering are easy targets.

Sinful Cravings

Churches standing firm on God’s Word are being attacked. Can one feel suffocated? Only if…one refuses the prodding of The Holy Spirit. He convicts us of sin, The Spirit of Truth- providing a way out of temptation. Sinful cravings are like brownies laced with poison. The pressure to relent, engulfed in sinful cravings is where many land. If we said, “NO!” to sin, we avoid satan’s grip, moving closer to Jesus Christ. That is…if…we know what is sin by studying God’s Word, applying Biblical Truth to our lives. All goodness from every trial, every valley, and every mountain we power through climbing and crossing, God’s strength builds with every step, moving into God’s Will.

Seek…

The more we seek, more of Jesus we understand. This world will pass away, yet, the individual who does the will of God lives forever. It’s almost hard to grasp fullness of living forever. However, it comes down to paradise vs. eternal flames- easy choice for me. How about you?

Be encouraged!
