Chief Priest and Pharisees: Key Religious Leaders

Chief Priest and Pharisees: Key Religious LeadersSo Judas came to the grove, guiding a detachment of soldiers and some officials from the chief priests and Pharisees. They were carrying torches, lanterns, and weapons. Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to him, went out and asked them, “Who is it you want?” (John 18:3,4 NIV)

Were You There?

The song melody from Were You There When They Crucified My Lord kept permeating through my thoughts yesterday. The author of this song had a revelation into Jesus being crucified. A powerful song written and with eye witnesses writing first hand information of Jesus’ crucifixion found in scripture, we too can envision to the point that we tremble, tremble, tremble. Yet, the question is…were we there when Jesus was crucified? No, we weren’t, yet, chief priests and pharisees were present.

Chief Priest and Pharisees

Chief Priest and Pharisees…key religious leaders carrying torches, lanterns, and weapons. Let’s think…all because Jesus showed inclusion, not exclusion, chose healing over religious practices, provided miracles, signs, and wonders, and fulfilled prophecy. All pure motivation, pure truth, not backing down from the elitist attitude of chief priest and Pharisees. They totally missed who Jesus was and what He came to do. He is one with God, the Father and He came to be Savior of the World. Does this mean every soul in this world is saved? No. Will everyone in this world have opportunity to know Jesus? Yes. Will all recognize Jesus? No.

Hands and Feet

I love the song about God places a million doors and we are one of those doors the lost world will walk through. This is key to why I believe God called this ministry into existence. God’s infallible Word is source for all believers to study, grow in knowledge, and apply to daily life. Through doing this, our hearts transform, conforming more towards Christ’s heart to be His hands and feet for all people on this earth. Do you consider yourself one of the million doors others will walk through? When they walk through- will we have an unadulterated heart, pure to represent Jesus in the flesh, exemplifying maturity gained through deepening walk with Christ.

Miracles, Signs, and Wonders

Thankful we have scripture to lean from eye witnesses. To learn from lessons Jesus shared with His disciples and actions taken against Jesus by the chief priest and Pharisees. All meaningful for today, understanding same evil spirit permeates hindering the flow of God’s miracles, signs, and wonders. Let’s pray we can see the difference.

Be encouraged!
