Ants Wisdom (lack of) Vs. Authority/Discipline

Ants Wisdom (lack of) Vs. Authority/DisciplineGo to the ant, you sluggard, consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. (Proverbs 6:6-8 NIV)

Yes! Ants!

Ant Theory 101, ready for this truth? Ants and sluggards are complete opposites. Considering ants find their way into our homes, may be ants rebelling from their God- given abilities to be successful in storing provisions and gathering its food at proper times. Anyone in agreement?

War

We’ve been in a war with ants coming in and when I think of sluggards, they have no comparison to the determination of ants. However, ants finding ways into our homes will not survive. I’ve really thought about this, weighing actions while drowning them down a drain. We finally found their trail and headquarters of operation. These smart ants listed in proverbs- book of wisdom, face death when found in wrong places. Could this be said for the human race? We have laws enforced to keep all safe. Yet, how many refuse to stay within safe territories?

Authority/Discipline

Easy enough to follow 10 commandments and today’s written laws. However, people rebel against authority – parents, teachers, law- enforcement, bosses in workplaces, and God. This force against authority is growing exponential in our confused society. One constant in our home, we remind our children to respect authority. If  locked into their fundamental thinking, they will respect authority as adults. A side component with respect towards authority is discipline. When disciplined, we align ourselves with doing our very best to follow schedules, meet deadlines, know the rules and follow, work on any weak areas to keep the devil from grasping. Therefore, lack of discipline and no respect, leads to sluggardness. In the end if this is not turned around, could lead to death.

Helper

If finding ourselves pulled in this direction, we have to become very cognitive, taking captive unproductive thoughts, formulating a new plan of action. Attempting on our own deserves merit, yet, we are not strong enough. Take time to ask The Holy Spirit’s help- He is our Helper, Counselor, and Spirit of Truth, what else do we need? We’ll have clear, crisp directions to follow. Take step by step, stepping out of any sluggardness. We cannot have these pesky little creatures working harder than us. Let’s work hard, complete all task we’ve started, prove to God we’re ready for more.

Be encouraged!
