Patience…God Is Waiting, Avoid Ignorance

Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. (2 Peter 3:16 NIV)

Friday!

Forward Friday! We’re either moving forward in life or stagnant, slipping backwards. Even when God says, “Be still and know that I am God,” we are processing in order to move forward. This is true, because if we are obedient to being still- we know this is from God. Most of the time we plow through mud even if it could have been avoided, it’s human nature. How many times have we’ve been stuck, because we chose to ignore God’s directions? Patience…God is patient.

It’s Coming…

Peter’s second letter discussed the day of the Lord, coming like a thief. Walking into a home after a break-in, is a most invasive and gut wrenching feeling. I know- took me three months to over come fear, remembering the craziest actions. The bewildered feeling will be experienced by all contemplating reasons why individuals are no longer present. When God’s trumpet sounds, I do not want to be left behind. I do not want you to be either. Our society is full of ignorant and unstable individuals distorting scriptures. We can be reassured, destruction will come to such people.

Patience

Innocent friends have said how they do not read scripture, because it’s hard to understand. Many people feel same, yet, unless we open up this amazing book that will promote life- an abundant life, we’ll never give God the chance to help us understand. His own disciples had hard time grasping truth right from Jesus’ own teachings, which were by parables for easier understanding. Paul and Peter are two of the best examples of God working in their lives to help them accept Jesus, grow and mature. As God awaits with patience, time is allowing the misinformed a chance to turn from deception and walk in Truth. Only Biblical Truth can set one free, free from the enemy’s grip- may be worse than a grip when given up.

Moving Forward!

Let’s move forward taking time to read the letters that Paul and Peter have written. Much is explained. When we fail to understand, all we have to do is ask Jesus to open our minds to scripture. He is faithful.
