But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God. (1 John 3:10-12 NIV)
Solar Eclipse
Motivating Monday! We know for a fact, the solar eclipse will occur around 1:20 pm. Fortunately, we’re in the path for totality of coverage. Like walking out my front door and be front and center with this celestial event, having not occurred since 1918. With all news coverage and passing out of eclipse glasses, I find myself not prepared. I have not taken time to be prepared, failing to have solar glasses. If not found this morning, I will miss the fine detail of being able to look directly into the sun. Good news though, life will not end.
Buzzing…
This event has our nation buzzing- hopeful will give one of the most productive Presidents a break from all attacks. A nation in midst of societal confusion, the seriousness of one’s soul is being forgotten. The day of the Lord will come like a thief. In midst of every day business and consumed minds, individuals…God’s children, will disappear. Will the society we’ve become be aware people are missing? Sadly, churches will still have people who thought they could live like the world and follow Christ, considered lukewarm.
Serious?
Revelation 3:16- the thought of lukewarm individuals to God is repulsive, he spews them out of his mouth. We have time now to change our ways of living. If we’ve never taken being a Christian serious, time is now. Please do not test God in this- only thing God says test him is with finances- tithing. This is the best test ever- being obedient in tithing takes our faith level to new understanding. Thinking this world will never end is foolish. We’re seeing evil unleashed, sin approved, and once committed to holy/godly living turn their backs on God- engulfed in sin.
Prepared
Let’s be motivated to be the kind of people who ought to live holy and godly lives. To study God’s Word,we’ll grow in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. The more we learn, more we understand, more we desire to please God by changing old- tiresome habits reflecting the world for character and integrity reflecting Christ. When the day of God comes, we’ll be prepared to leave this world behind. Sounds pretty nice…
Be encouraged!
