Exercise- Sound Doctrine- Biblical Truth

Exercise- Sound Doctrine- Biblical TruthFor the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. (2 Timothy 4:3,4 NIV)

Motivating Monday!

Starting this week thinking about exercise. Will I make exercise times scheduled this week? Last week’s goal was met, exercising three days. We talked with our oldest child who is a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets, a Senior Military Academy. He was excited to have the weekend off, mentioning he and buddies were about to work-out/exercise for fun. Most of us do not equate exercise with the word- fun. For most- we have a wall to break through, pushing ourselves to overcome obstacles in order to exercise. When we do, we receive satisfaction.

Exercise

Not only breakthroughs to exercise- unseen walls prevent us from studying God’s Word. Take 2 Timothy 4:3 and 4, warnings for what was to come, now seen in our midst. If we never breakthrough- we will never know God’s Word for ourselves. This is important, we have churches all around us with these teachers- preaching what itching ears want to hear. Societal confusion stems from people moving away from sound doctrine. In the last 30 years, this underlying spiritual attack against sound doctrine has established desires for myths vs. Truth. Anything to smooth deep crevasses in our hearts, when entertaining sin. Even allowing thoughts to ponder, satan is there gripping. When fully engulfed in sin, having ignored all warning nudges, the only way to loosen satan’s grip is God’s Word.

Freedom

Jesus said there will be days like this, never imagined they would be in my lifetime or yours. The same freedom we have to exercise, enhancing physical strength, we have same freedom to exercise, enhancing spiritual knowledge. With knowledge, we gain understanding and walk in wisdom. If not, the opposite is ignorance. There really is no bliss in ignorance. Let’s be motivated to stay informed, being alert and in tune with God’s Word.

Be encouraged!
