Test Everything…Study To Know

Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not put out the Spirit’s fire, do not treat prophecies with contempt. Test everything. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-21 NIV)

Test

Test everything. In order to test, we need information to study, knowledge to gain. How will we know how to test, if we do not know the standard against what is being tested. Deep in our hearts, are roots connected to what we’ve learned so far in life. What are the roots of our hearts connected with? Good question.

Deep Roots

It was during my childhood, deep roots were setting the foundation for my walk with Christ. The same happened for many, yet, why have individuals exited the church? Somewhere along the way, distractions came, professors confused, and/or disappointments separated and self ideologies took over. When self-ideologies take over, it is all about pleasing self and what makes self happy. It will be hard to test everything if we put all effort into self and little to nothing into learning about Jesus.

Joy

Joy is mentioned again…be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances….these are possible, only through Biblical knowledge gained. They would be dismissed by the world, each one takes giving of self.

Heart to Heart

Heart to heart, deep connecting on serious topics. It’s taken further, not to put out Spirit’s fire. How many people have been excited about Jesus, The Holy Spirit empowering change and growth, to only have someone pinch our wick? It happens often. We are not to treat prophecies in contempt. How do we know real prophetic words…we ask Jesus. We test if what is being said lines up with God’s Word or not…we must know scripture to test truth.

Willingness…

The belief…never too late is untrue, because one day it will be too late. When God’s trumpet sounds, dead in Christ shall rise and we will meet them in the air…only if we are willing to surrender, repent, ask for forgiveness, and seek God with all our hearts. When we seek, we will find. Exciting! Remember…let’s test everything, avoid being deceived.
