Church: Will the Real People Stand Up?

Church: Will the Real People Stand Up?“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” (Psalm 46:10 ESV)

Happy New Year!

A new year and a new year with Releasing Truth. Seems like yesterday when the first blog launched, yet, God’s timing has been impeccable. When I first attended writing conferences, spiritual warfare was not a popular topic. They were the only words I knew to speak at the time. As I kept seeking, an awareness to deception was key. We don’t have to understand the war between good vs. evil, or God vs. devil to wrap minds around present day evil in our world. Having the back story is helpful.

Church

I wish I could raise my children in my home church, the way it was 30-40 years ago. Never would we have heard about the pastor drinking wine and how it became part in producing his joy. The joy of the Lord is our strength- joy found in God alone, following His commands, aligning with His will for our lives, refining character within, developing holiness to be more like Christ- this is what promotes joy in our lives. Deception is every where…we have to know God’s Word for ourselves. Proverbs 23 brings clarity on wine issue; God’s inspired words, not mine.

Christians

How this affects the church is huge. Every person identified as a Christian is watched- not only by God, being held accountable, yet, we never know who is watching. The world wants real people of the church to stand up. Who are they? Who are truly God’s disciples? Are we the light and salt of the earth or numb and indifferent? Scriptures states in Matthew 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.

Thinking

Last night reminded me of all the New Year’s Eves spent in church. I remember movies on the mark of the beast- thankfully, never heard/seen any since then. What if we are never taught reality of truth? Lots to stay alert on- like our iPhones, never want to think I cannot live without. Never want to be pulled into the line of thinking I have to have things in this world. One World Government, watch out for these discussions.

Diligence

Wow! Sorry this is not a happy, feel good blog today. I’m just an instrument, instructed to listen and type. Words for the new year are always good. Mine is…”Be still, and know that I am God.” I believe 2018 will be great, yet, it is a year to prepare. We must be diligent with our Spiritual walk, pulling weeds when identified, watering flowers that have wilted, nurturing ourselves in God’s Word to grow in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. All to keep ourselves from being deceived in midst of this societal confusion.

Be encouraged!
