And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” Luke 18:6-8 NIV)
Motivating Monday!
Christmas season is in full swing, choirs singing and office parties happening. As I flipped to Luke looking for scripture coming to mind, Luke 18 caught my attention. Jesus starts this chapter by telling his disciples a parable to encourage them to always pray and never give up. I love this and see an encouragement for us today.
Parables
The parable included an unjust judge, neither feared God or cared about men. A widow, who kept approaching the judge to grant justice against her adversary. For no other reason, after persistence, he granted her request. If an unjust judge will do this for a widower, imagine all God does for His children. Are you a child of God, believe Jesus is the son of man and God, that he died on the cross and rose three days later? If so, scripture says you are a child, reborn into the family of Jesus Christ. Aren’t we a typical family- mature individuals love and walk with wisdom, knowledge, and understanding as immature individuals are like young children. The ‘me’ syndrome, jealousy, gossip, carless words, strife, all world minded…with a willing heart, God will transform into His image.
Justice
Will Jesus find faith on earth? Beside my Bible, I wrote…good question. We, The Church, have lots of maturing to do, in order to regain sheep that have wondered off, while inviting and keeping new Christians. Wearing Sunday best can only keep a good image for so long. The World is looking- watching The Church. The Church, believing God’s Word is infallible. Only can discipleship be effective, if believers are matured helping those being discipled. There is a need to understand, discipleship is necessary in order to gain maturity, in order to help grow God’s Kingdom. Why settle for unjust situations? God is willing to bring justice, quickly. He is a wonderful Father, all- knowing…He knows. Let’s be motivated to keep pursuing Jesus, praying and never give up.
Be encouraged!
