Promises: Revealed In Perfect Timing

Promises: Revealed In Perfect TimingSimeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all people, a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel.” (Luke 2:28-32 NIV)

Heart to Heart,

Today meet Simeon, a righteous and devout believer from Jerusalem. Through the Holy Spirit, Simeon knew he would not die until he saw the Lord’s Christ- baby Jesus. A promise unknown when would take place. Scripture does not necessarily tell how long, yet, when this promise came to be, Simeon was ready to die.

Promises

Promises from the Holy Spirit are trustworthy. The words spoken by Simeon, not only amazed Joseph and Mary, they are amazing to this very day. Jesus, only a few days old, God revealed through Simeon His purpose; Salvation and light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to the people of Israel. Amazing! As we read scripture, we see this prophecy fulfilled. God is faithful.

Timing

Promises may take years to see fulfilled. During this time, we are to never doubt, trusting God’s perfect timing. Before attending my first writer’s conference, I was confident of the Holy Spirit’s promises to me, concerning writing and speaking. Both part of my purpose, both still continuing to develop. When designing my website, I debated about listing a speaking page. I was like, God, I’m not speaking, do I really need to place this on my website. I kid you not…in the next few days, I received my first speaking invitation. I’ve had interest since, yet, I’m confident God solidified His promise in me, never to doubt and trust His timing to release more of my destiny.

Waiting…

The same is true for you. As my purpose was being revealed and destiny released, I was in a season of fasting and praying. Seeking God whole hearted, worshiping in song and praise. God has to be able to trust us, before doing much in His name. I always say, I’m just a vessel, God is the true author of everything blog I write. I’m not in this to be popular, I only want to be obedient, keeping my eyes on Jesus and ears open to know direction to encourage. Let us never grow weary waiting for God’s promises to be fulfilled in our lives. Just like Simeon and Anna, another prophetess present to see Jesus. She never left the temple, worshiping night and day, fasting and praying…and she saw baby Jesus. Are we ready to experience all God has waiting for us? I am!

Be encouraged!
