Therefore, as you received Jesus Christ the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in Thanksgiving. (Colossians 2:6, 7 ESV)
Motivating Monday!
Yesterday, our pastor’s sermon was one for the history books. He began discussion with a security blanket and how we all have items held tight for security before releasing to embrace healing or new God has for us. Let’s see…change was a big word he used. I encourage all to listen to full message found on Cape Lacroix Church’s website.
Walk
During worship, the words…A cross meant to kill, is my victory. Jesus’ death on the cross, led accusers to believe His ministry would end. His death not only became Jesus’ victory once and for all- victory for all mankind…if we accept Jesus as our Savior, and walk in His ways. If we walk in His ways…we too walk in victory. Romans 8:31…If God is for us, who can be against us? I always say…there are plenty who try.
Rooted
The key is being rooted, established in faith when people simply act against us or even more so against our children. Over the weekend, I was reminded how every individual has a right to believe in their ideal situation, even if spectators can see error after error made, with zero attempt to change. With my walk in Christ, built up, and established in faith…my flesh and rehabilitated inner momma bear stayed calm, with thanksgiving. Not that the flesh did not keep pounding trying to uproot my faith, which would distract people from Christ, and tarnish our testimonies.
Benefits
Just as accusers meant the cross to kill, people rationalize reasons against valuing others. The reasons are likely similar to why they wanted Jesus dead. Jesus represented good- healing, hope, deliverance. He spent time in prayer, seeking God’s will. The Lord’s Spirit upon Him, conflicted with evil in others’ hearts. Imagine if the accusers had only calmed and seen all Jesus represented, they too would reap benefits. As with people today, who want to push their own agendas, even if errors prevent success. It’s their right…just not to their benefit.
Victory
Let’s be motivated! The victory is ours- who walk in Christ, rooted and built in Him, established in faith, and thankful. God is faithful and He will work all out for our good. I believe this with my entire heart, mind, and soul.
Be encouraged!
