Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.” (Daniel 10:12, 13 NIV)
Motivating Monday!
Hope there’s a cup of coffee/tea ready to go! James 1:2 informs Consider it pure joy, my brothers whenever you face trials of many kinds. Because… Yes, we need to know why we’re told to consider trials of many kinds- even opposition, pure joy. These are test developing our faith. Will we accept defeat as the devil would like or count trials joy, allowing our faith to develop? There are times discerned when opposition is in the spiritual realm.
Opposition
The angel aiming to help Daniel had been resisted by the Persian Kingdom- the Prince of Persia is satan. Satan’s limited powers place opposition against God’s people pursuing doing good or completing God- given purpose. Daniel fasted for twenty- one days, breaking satan’s opposition. In order for us to be able to defeat opposition- we have to develop maturity at some point during our Spiritual journey, or we’ll miss out on all God has waiting. Maturity allows Spiritual understanding to develop through reading/studying God’s Word-The Bible, gaining knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. Somewhere after surrounding our self-will for God’s will, we develop discernment.
Wisdom
There will be times in our lives, children, relatives, friends…when we know there should be goals obtained, productivity activated, purpose being accomplished. Yet, we keep waiting, waiting, and waiting. This happened to me last night during my daughter’s soccer game. A quickening in my Spirit, prayed opposition to cease over her. Before the end of the game, she scored two goals. We may never know source of opposition, yet, we know source to remove all opposition…Jesus Christ. Romans 8:28!
Be encouraged!
