Light/Darkness…What’s seen, God Already Knows

Light/Darkness...What's seen, God Already Knows“Woe to you experts in the law, because you have taken away the key to knowledge. You yourselves have not entered, and you have hindered those who were entering.” When Jesus left there, the Pharisees and the teachers of the law began to oppose him fiercely and to besiege him with questions, waiting to catch him in something he might say. (Luke 11:52-54 NIV)

Experts

Hmmm…To the Pharisee, Jesus said, “Now then, you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness. You foolish people!…”(Luke 11:39,40) Jesus did not miss any attitude or action of the Pharisee nor does He miss anything about us. The Pharisees, known to be experts in the law, were full of man made laws. The problem: Jesus did not wash his hands before eating.

Light

An invite came from the Pharisee…right after Jesus taught on eyes being the lamp of our bodies. When our eyes see good, the whole body is full of light; when our eyes see bad, bodies are full of darkness. When the entire body is full of light, no darkness can invade. I’ve really worked on this for years. I no longer watch movies, or shows, letting my mind tilt towards doubt or deceit. When those unwelcomed thoughts  enter my mind- this is where we have to decide. Are we letting wayward thoughts force darkness in and light out to distract from all God has destined for us?

Visual

The photo today(taken as I drove into Indianapolis, IN last night) is a visual for how heavy hearts can become when darkness enters. Is it worry over injustices- especially allowed against our children, manipulation in careers, addictions snuck in before known depth, the list can be endless. We’re left with heavy hearts. Heavy hearts can be given all to Jesus Christ. His death on the cross, pinned every sin, ready to forgive all who ask for forgiveness.

Continue to do good…

The Pharisees are not different from those today thinking much too high of self, waiting to catch us in something we might say. They constantly waited for Jesus to make a mistake. Someone will always be scrutinized no matter what…what do we do? It is God’s Will that we continue to do good, to silence the foolish talk of ignorant men. Therefore, we keep our eyes on Jesus, trusting Him with everything, We can trust Jesus, He’s sovereign and knows the heart of every person. He knows! He’ll replace every speck of darkness with light- as we seek Him.

Be encouraged!
