Relationships: Rebuilding W/God’s Promises

Relationships: Rebuilding W/God's PromisesBe still before the Lord, all mankind, because he has roused himself from his holy dwelling. (Zechariah 2:13 NIV)

Motivating Monday!

Motivation- from encouragement, is necessary to see circumstances change. Back in Zechariah’s day, the Israelites had lost hope. With thoughts of leaving exile and reality when they returned, discouragement overwhelmed. God used Prophets Haggai and Zechariah to stir their interest in rebuilding the temple and even more so, rebuilding relationships with God.

Visions

Visions are one way, God’s reveals to encourage. Chapter 2 opens with a man aiming to measure and Zechariah became interested in what he was doing. He wanted to measure Jerusalem, finding how wide and long. An angel enters…with urgency to catch this guy, he had the answer! “Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of men and livestock in it. And I myself will be a wall of fire around it, declares the Lord, ‘and I will be its glory within.” Wow! Take a minute and let the impact of this vision sink in.

Encouragers

As much as God loves Jerusalem, He loves all mankind. Imagine the essence of power if we could be still before the Lord. When God promises a way out of every temptation, and He knows the number of hairs on every head…He has brought encouragers into each of our lives. Haggai and Zechariah were vital to Jerusalem’s future, and times we feel beaten down and hopes dashed, God awaits to be our God- to be a wall of fire around us, and glory within. Are we willing to receive the encouragement? Tough situations calls for stronger encouragement- God sends His Prophets.

Relationships

At the center of every conflict, from nations to nations, people to people, there are hearts in need of rebuilding relationships with God/Jesus Christ/Holy Spirit. A song comes to mind from yesterday’s worship…Isn’t He wonderful…He’s so wonderful- so powerful…He comes three in one.

Be encouraged!
