Commands…God’s Teachings and Directions

Commands...God's Teachings and Directions“I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea. Your descendants would have been like the sand, your children like its numberless grains; their name would never be cut off nor destroyed from before me.” (Isaiah 48:17b-19 NIV)

January!

January is full of fresh new opportunities. Cant say I’ve embraced all possible…this is the second part…take action. My three kiddos are all athletic and physically fit, utilizing the gym membership. Three months before end of year, I kept saying…I have to start going now. This did not happen. I’ve encouraged them…encourage the new comers, staying committed is key to meeting goals. We all need encouragement. In Spiritual matters, we need encouragement, too. The Word spoken through Isaiah is clear…we need to follow God’s commands.

Surprising Deficit

Look who not only beat Alabama’s football dynasty, Clemson widened the deficit quite surprising. The head coach and players spoke…their obedience to living for Christ; following His commands…allowed God’s power to work through entire team. They were unified with purpose- to win the National Championship. This is a perfect example, for our daily lives. Because…we’re not seeing much peace, and the importance of our children to stay living for Christ is detrimental to our obedience following God’s commands.

God’s Commands

What are God’s commands? These are listed throughout Scripture. When following God’s commandments, our peace will be like a river, our righteousness like waves in the sea- viewing oceans can be very mesmerizing for me. Grateful, knowing our children will never be cut off or destroyed from before God. Through experiencing all these points, we can be encouraged. Yes, we can start going to the gym- It’s our identity in Christ that matters, who we are to Christ- not who we are seen through worldly eyes. I do believe the positive impact, exercise has on our entire being.

Trust

Trust God, know He teaches what is best for us, directing us in the way we should go. Don’t feel this is happening? Double check…following God’s commands? Removing/Adding, making life adjustments as God directs, leads to amazing peace. God is faithful, He will do all promised in the Bible, when He sees we are faithful to Him.

Be encouraged!
