Joyful: Holding Good, Avoiding Every Kind of Evil

Joyful: Holding Good, Avoiding Every Kind of EvilBe joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not put out the Spirit’s fire, do not treat prophecies with contempt. Test everything. Hold on to what is good. Avoid every kind of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-22 NIV)

Motivating Monday!

Why is God’s will for us to be joyful always, praying continually, and giving thanks in all circumstances? In one simple sentence, is a recipe for life abundant. When life gives lemons, make lemonade. With endless rain- becoming exhausting for many- cattle ranchers in various parts have better quality grass for their cows to eat, increasing quality to sell. When Scripture tells us to test everything, one may wonder process to test. In similar fashion to any other test, we need knowledge to do well. Therefore, Scriptural knowledge is necessary to test between good vs. evil.

God’s Promise…

The joy of the Lord is our strength. God wants us joyful to be strong. Praying continually, keeps our minds and eyes focused on Jesus, avoiding distractions stealing our joy. No joy- no super-natural strength. If we keep gaining Biblical knowledge by studying God’s Word, attending Bible studies, or old fashion way of listening to teaching tapes- podcast for today; we will develop Word knowledge. I was encouraged to pod-cast several years ago, before pod-casts became so popular. Any time distractions take our focus off Jesus, God’s will comes to a halt. We want to keep moving forward in our faith journey. God’s promise when we seek, we find. I like to think more we seek, more we find- more of God’s knowledge and revelation revealed.

Steadfast

Watch treating prophecies in contempt. Test everything is simply put- do not take any Bible study, sermon, blog, pod-cast, book- for granted. We no longer live in that kind of world. Societal confusion with false slant to media- and much of media is bold face lies. What was once thought trustworthy causes us to consider new thinking. When we test everything…no one can influence our steadfast ability to stand firm on God’s Word. A ripple effect happens, we see clearly avoiding societal confusion, separating truth from evil. Holding on to what is good- avoiding every kind of evil. Good Word.

Joyful

Seeking God’s Will avoids much heartache. Taking wrong turns, tripped by counterfeits, and soiling self in bitterness, offense, envy and strife…all lead us astray. A statement from a former church rings true: isolation, depression, and possession. Satan loves to grip into isolation, his pounding over peoples’ emotions cause depression, and possessed by demons with uncontrollable actions/addictions…this proves the devil does have power to steal, kill, and destroy. Therefore, we must be aware, be alert, be proactive to avoid being deceived. We either hold on to what is good, avoiding evil, or every kind of evil will place in bondage. It’s vital to test Spirits…I do not want to see anyone deceived, believing the devil’s lies, or tripped by societal confusion. We avoid this by always being joyful, praying continually, and giving thanks in all circumstances. Whew! This is a matter of life vs. death.

Be encouraged!
