Disciples’ Fear- Jesus’ Peace; Same Today

Convictions: Basis for Personal ChoicesOn the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. (John 20:19, 20 NIV)

Forward Friday!

TGIF! Wondrous harmony can be heard from many- how thankful we are for Friday. Summer breaks are over for most, others are nearing end. I do not want this Friday’s blog to be any regular Friday…I want us to move forward, taking action, with refreshed thoughts and with every blog, new tools to consider using from God’s Word. The goal of this blog is to help individuals avoid being deceived by providing Biblical Truth through God’s Word, relating to current events. A ripple effect can happen for those willing…in order not to be deceived, we have to become mature through our Spiritual journey. Everyone has a starting point…and from here we’re all in different places, depending how serious we are with building a relationship with Jesus.

Disciples

The relationship between Jesus and His disciples can be seen gradually developed; Nicodemus and the young rich man…walked away. In order to move forward, we step into new territory. Fear is an immediate attack when confronted with change. Fear is the devil’s tool to stop movement forward. Besides keeping people blinded from Truth, unaccepting of Jesus and His ways, fear is likely the devil’s next best attack. Any time faith is needed- moving mountains or healing of self or loved ones, we must remove fear. Fear cancels faith.

Fear/Faith

Today’s Scripture is a beautiful visual. I can understand how fear gripped the disciples, I dealt with a heavy blanket of fear after a 2008 home invasion. It’s a real demonic force thrown over us like a blanket…unable to accept God’s peace. A study on Psalms 23 broke this blanket of fear from me. Faith is developed from learning God’s Word and applying God’s Word, is the only force more powerful than the devil’s to break demonic spirits. This why when the disciples were sitting in fear- Jesus’ arrival completely changed the atmosphere. Peace…and Jesus said again, “Peace be with you!” When we invite Jesus into our lives- every moment of every hour…He is here offering peace, which trumps any fear or anxiety.

Peace

We can move forward, accepting God’s Word is power to break generational curses, sickness, anxiety, any…thing. We have to know God’s Word in order to relate His Word to our situation. Whatever you are facing today- in midst of any fear or anxiety, invite Jesus into our midst- He will speak Peace and we will become overjoyed, too!

Be encouraged!
