Light Vs. Darkness: Moving Forward, Choose Jesus!

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consist in all goodness, righteousness, and truth) and finds out what pleases the Lord. (Ephesians 5:8, 9 NIV)

Forward Friday!

I’m still excited from Bible study. Different from BSF, this is the study of C. S. Lewis…The Screwtape Letters. Have you ever read or studied this book? It’s very interesting, and informative on the devil’s deceptive tactics. The devil tries to attack our daily lives…little by little to grip. How do we move forward when there seems to be this constant tug…two steps forward toward Jesus and three steps back into the world? Learning to identify satan’s tricks, we begin re-thinking ways to prevent distractions. If we are Christians, we no longer live in darkness, we live as children of light.

Light

When thinking about Ephesians, we often relate this book to God’s Armor in Chapter 6. Take time to read entire book- only six chapters. Yet, complaints about God’s rule book stir- when God’s Word is for teaching and transforming us from world minded individuals into God’s righteousness, seeking holiness; desiring to grow in wisdom, knowledge and understanding. To know God’s Word- is to know Him. As reminded in class, Revelation 3:15, 16…it’s better to be hot or cold(still time to be saved), luke warm individuals have trouble ahead, unless repented. They still live in the world, reflective of world values, and claim to be a Christian. Like a person straddling a fence; a foot in the world, and one in church.

Good news!

Lukewarm individuals are reasons many churches divide. They want by-laws changed, God’s Word not taken literal, and mis-lead others from surrendering to Jesus and all His teachings. Let’s pray for all- hot to stay hot, lukewarm to hot, and cold to hot. We can ask ourself…am I reflecting more of the world/darkness or am I reflecting light…all goodness, righteousness, and truth. Good news! If the answer is no, time is on our side for now, and we can choose Jesus. Call on Jesus, and be saved. Find out what pleases Him- this is do’s and don’ts, activating abundant life.
