Deceived: Clarity Needed, Avoiding Societal Confusion

Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”  Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God- I say this to your shame. (1 Corinthians 15:33 ESV)

Forward Friday! 

Importance is always making sure Scripture is not taken out of context. In today’s Scripture, Paul was discussing a hot topic, commentary states most explosive in the Corinthian church; life after death, Jesus’ resurrection. Even false religions still battle today. Any time there are two sets of ideologies at odds- safe to say…Biblically aligning one will be good, and the other evil. If all were in agreement, 50/50 chance  both aligning with good or both aligning with evil. Here we are seeing a division in our country, right about 50/50.

Clarity

If all were seeking God’s wisdom, His Truth-The Bible, gaining wisdom, knowledge, and understanding…more clarity would be gained over all societal confusion. If we claim to be a Christian- #1 check off on any political candidate- do they believe in the sanctity of life? Are they against abortion? Jesus says, when any wrong is done to little children, it’s like doing unto Him. For every murder- and this is what is happening when aborting a baby during any development stage- Jesus is being murdered time and time again. This is not something we can agree to disagree, life matters. Do not be deceived, God will hold us accountable with the company we align with.

Deceived/Influences

Paul never avoided punches; after his transformation, he talked straight, educated and Spirit- filled. While societal confusion lures divisions, others become indifferent, misled, and eventually deceived. Our teens, have to be careful, avoid being influenced by bad company- ruining good morals. Same for adults, the devil will manipulate ways for us to be influenced by bad company, thus ruining our good morals. We can never stop praying for our children, and guarding our own hearts.

Aligning W/God

We have to stay alert to the devil’s schemes. He is crafty, having full knowledge of God’s Word and Ways, to set out to steal, kill, and destroy. I know it’s tough when steeped in traditions- political and churches. It’s a way of life and friends, yet, we don’t want to be deceived by those ignorant of God. This is capturing many, lacking any willingness to change- aligning with tradition over God. We can only move forward, when willing to pray and hear what God has to say, making adjustments.
