Grace, Ungodliness, and Blessed Hope

Grace, Ungodliness, and Blessed HopeFor the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope- the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. (Titus 2:11-14 NIV)

Motivating Monday!

March 2, and 2020 is well on its way! While we expected unusual amounts of snow this winter, we’ve had none being on the border many times. We had rain and more rain, fitting more with unusual amounts. While weather is always a great passive way to communicate, avoiding difficult talks, yet, it’s in these difficult talks- life matters. Paul writes concerning Titus and the Cretan people. Titus known more as Paul’s trusted troubleshooter was sent into troubling churches.

Grace vs. Ungodliness

We are encouraged to know God’s grace brings salvation to all people. It also teaches us to say, “No” to all ungodliness and worldly passions. In order to know what defines ungodliness, we must learn from studying Scripture. Ungodliness is same as sin…and sin separates us from God. Anything that is ungodly or anti-God…allows worldly passions to overtake an individual, while moving further away from God. Red flags are flying, this is very bad!

Blessed Hope

God’s same grace teaches us to live self-controlled lives, upright and godly. As the devil blinds and deceives more people, less are holding onto the blessed hope- Jesus’ return. Somewhere in midst of all societal confusion…knowledge of judgment is lost. Death is final- here on earth, and will impact eternal life- Heaven or hell?

What is Good?

God sent His One and only Son to live and die, redeeming us from all wickedness, because sin is wicked, and purifying us as God’s very own, eager to do what is good. We want to do good. Not fall prey to false propaganda, or leading a cause to justify sin. Let’s be motivated to want to do good- to stay away from all ungodliness…seeking Jesus and His Word; growing in wisdom, knowledge and understanding. As I take a deep breath, such peace flows when we gain wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. We are not shaken by the world or those of the world…they do not know Jesus and this makes a difference how we respond.

Be encouraged!
