He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you. Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms.” Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. (Luke 24:41-45 NIV)
Motivating Monday!
After raising from the dead, Jesus spent limited time with the disciples. When reading the NT, the disciples keep us turning pages- they really did not understand much and even after Jesus explained in parables…they still had trouble. This is much like when first engaging into our Spiritual journeys’. Many may be seeking Jesus, looking into Scripture and feeling overwhelmed. Avoid being discouraged and don’t stop. Instead, begin reading The Bible, asking Jesus to open our minds to understand the Scriptures. He is faithful!
Minds
Accepting Jesus as Savior is a beginning, not an end. Faith as small as a mustard seed is ready to be nurtured, discipled by trustworthy individuals. More we read/study our Bibles, more learned, more we grow into mature Christians. Our minds open to understand will expedite the learning process. Immaturity to maturity is a different timeline for each one- depending how much we study and grow in God’s knowledge, wisdom, and understanding.
Transformations…
More notable of one’s transformation….more acceptance of new self over old. One of the most striking compliments to me noting a change from my old self…during a writer’s conference, sweet table mates could not hear me talk- in agreement discussing my sweet quiet voice. Wow! God can take a loud self-righteous attitude and turn into gentile, quiet Spirit. Yet, taking what has been in us all along, now tailored to God’s gifts within. For example, loud turned to bold, self-righteous turned to God’s righteous.
Protection
Pray daily protection over our minds. Looking back, I’ve written several blogs on the importance of our minds for various stages of maturity- even maturing in my writing gift. There is much to experience beyond the point of Salvation. It’s like either walking around an amusement park, watching others have fun; or step out of comfort zone and ride rides- experiencing all kinds of excitement. Though,we might find terrorizing at times. Remember…avoid aggravation when not understanding Scripture. Simply ask Jesus to open our minds to understand. Powerful!
Be encouraged!
