Righteous…God’s Righteousness, traded Old for New

Righteous...God's Righteousness, traded Old for NewThe righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like the cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, “The Lord is Upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.” (Psalm 92:12-15 NIV)

Motivating Monday!

Monday needs to be positive and motivating! What sounds better than knowing God’s righteous ones will flourish like a palm tree, bearing fruit in old age, and staying fresh and green? This sounds marvelous for turning 50 this year and experiencing all we have. I always say age is just a number. Yesterday, I heard during Free Chapel’s on-line service…the song, Goodness of God. The same song while listening to the radio sent me right to prayer to listen to this song again. I can say, “All my life God has been faithful.” I know many can say the same. God is so good.

Powerful sermon also heard, and like my daughter added…week after week. This has been a powerful time listening to Jentezen Franklin’s sermons. I encourage each to listen to one of his previous sermons. The Lord’s righteousness is a wonderful trade off for our own self-righteousness. The ‘I’ factor and all self-ideology that follows, along with humble pies. After having to endure many humble pies, I encourage each to grasp this fact sooner than later…relieve ourselves of self-righteous baggage.

The words…planted in the house of the Lord…the only safe place for us. In midst of all societal confusion and mass deception…accepting Jesus as Savior, His righteousness, planted in the house of the Lord, all to flourish in the courts of our God! Powerful! No matter how far removed our world becomes…Jesus Christ is faithful. In Him, we are well protected…if, we are willing to proclaim, “The Lord is Upright; He is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him.” All wickedness is aligned with the devil- he is here to steal, kill, and destroy…God is here to give us life, more abundant- John 10:10.

Let’s be motivated this week, claiming today’s Scripture…no matter our age. Let’s seek God’s righteousness and be like this planted tree! When the world is spiraling out of control, we must stand strong, having a foundation set in Christ.

Be encouraged!
