Trials: Understanding or Not? May Be…

Moses summoned all the Israelites and said to them: Your eyes have seen all that the Lord did in Egypt to Pharaoh, to all his officials, and all his land. With your own eyes you saw those great trials, those miraculous signs and great wonders. But to this day, the Lord has not given you a mind that understands, or eyes that see or ears that hear. (Deuteronomy 29:2-4, NIV)

Motivating Monday!

Hello! Seems like I’ve been away so, nice to be back home. We had an exciting end to our middle child’s summer baseball- winning Babe Ruth State Tournament, and then winning the Southern International Tournament, a subtitle for the BR World Series. He spent July verbally accepting a baseball offer closer to home, then after ending the summer of Champions- he went back to Texas A&M plans. We had two days before leaving for Texas. Now, not even a full week of classes, and Galveston students face two potential hurricanes. The unexpected is best to explain the last month. Virus? What virus? Yes, trials are great all over the world. Though, I think most eyes have shifted on Marco and Laura, unless facing the California fires- so sad.

I encourage everyone to visit Free Chapel, Gainesville, GA, website and listen to the last three weeks of sermons. Pastor Franklin is spot on and can be trusted. He concluded today a three part sermon on end times and how to be prepared. Trials seem more severe right now to us, though not unfamiliar for the Israelites back in the day. They were present for all plagues placed upon Egypt. They saw the Red Sea divide and walked through the departed waters. Yet, they did not have a mind to understand, or eyes to see, or ears to hear.

Trials

The biggest question I’ve been asking, seems like being unanswered; How can any individual, claiming Christianity- vote for anyone allowing babies to be killed. Yet, in today’s Scripture, we see God’s chosen, the Israelites, with minds, eyes, and ears closed to understanding deeper happenings around them. This seems to be the answer, God has not opened minds, eyes, and ears to understand. This takes time to mature and be trusted with greater understanding. Even Jesus had to open the Apostles’ minds to understand. We need to press into God’s Word, prayer and worship, desiring to know more, gaining wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.

Spiritual Meanings…

Trials are a time to cling to Jesus, not move away. When thinking about this virus, I think about plagues over Egypt. If God spoke to Moses, and Moses was on limited understanding himself, working on obedience, could declare a plague- through God, He commanded an end. Dear fellow believers, we have to work tougher declaring an end to this virus, fires, and hurricanes. With deeper understanding, we grasp Spiritual meaning behind every entity on Earth or those assigned to various people. Let’s be motivated to ask Jesus, to open our minds to understand, eyes to see, and ears to hear… much needed in midst of such societal confusion.
