Give: Same Way Measured, Same Received

Give: Same Way Measured, Same Received…give and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you. (Luke 6:38 ESV)

Forward Friday!

I naturally can think…everyone thinks like me. A wise editor once told me, the reason I’ve been given my ways of thinking…through studying God’s Word, learning life lessons, while apply Biblical Truth…is to share and help others. One thing my husband and I had right from the beginning is tithing. Tithing is the first step in honoring God with our finances, and giving comes in near second. The measure we use to give, will be the measure used given back to us. It does not get any simpler than this Biblical Truth.

Give

Our church receives top 10%- no qualms about giving back to God- It all came from Him, simple obedience, honoring God’s Word. It’s even better when tithing on the gross amount. Anything given above the tithe, is an offering. Offerings can be given where God’s leads you. Understanding tithing, opens the doors to discuss giving. In Acts 20:35b words father Lord Jesus, how he himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” I completely agree! If this is a new concept for you or one just never considered, please start small. In tithing, God says…test Him.

Align w/Truth

Someone may think- this is all easy for you. Let me assure you, this is something my husband and I have done together- tithing and giving. God is faithful. We have our stories of having very little money when first married, eating lots of pancakes and hot dogs. When living out this principle, any naysayers cannot have grasped these principles or they would understand, too. Please don’t sit back refusing to give, even if just a little. I’m reminded of the lady’s story included in Mark 12:44, she gave out of her poverty, everything she had. This gained Jesus’ attention. God’s knows our hearts, motivation, and convictions. Aligned with God’s Word on giving, be ready…give with good measure, receive good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over!

Be encouraged!
