“Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.” (Acts 5:38,39 NIV)
Example
Gamaliel, a teacher of law, sets example for perseverance. Honored by all people, he stood before the Sanhedrin. Members of the Sadducees filled with jealousy caused the apostles’ arrest. They were arrested for teaching in Jesus’s name. The Sadducees became so angry, they wanted them dead. Gamaliel ‘s speech persuaded them to flog and release.
Perseverance
The apostles left rejoicing counting it worthy to suffer for Christ. Where do we stand with this thought? Are we joyful counting trials for our good? James 1 states, you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. It’s more important than ever to find our God- given purpose and pursue.
Pursuit
Our pursuit, even on God’s clear path, has roadblocks. We cannot allow roadblocks to become distractions. Quicker lesson is learned, faster we move forward. Whatever God’s purpose, He is faithful. Naysayers have no power like they perceive. They cannot prevent God’s plan to prevail. Plus, will be held accountable for fighting against God. It appears they come against us- they actually come against God. If purpose is of human origins, it will fail.
Believe
God’s sovereignty is just. He is all-knowing. Placing trust in Jesus Christ, allows perseverance to develop maturity. Once mature and complete, we lack for nothing. Can we believe this? Yes, we can. Jesus has proven himself faithful. Seek Jesus with your whole heart, you will find Him. Faith develops perseverance, therefore start building faith. Faith as small as mustard seeds move mountains, just believe.
