That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9 NIV)
Bottom line
Bottom line signed, means legal binding sealed. Once signature is in place, it’s expected to follow through with plans. We believe in the commitment or would never have signed. So it is with Christianity. No signatures necessary, we confess with our mouths and believe in our hearts.
Disconnect
What we believe is incredibly vital to live for Christ. See, this is where I believe disconnect happens. Image of Christianity and living for Christ are two different ideologies. Image reflects in appearances. Living for Christ reflects in hearts. Images flow freely through wide path, as only those with commitment walk through narrow gate to eternity.
Simpler times
The hymn, Mansion Over the Hilltop, a favorite from childhood is remembered singing along with Victory In Jesus. Hymns have a powerful draw to simpler times.
Don’t think me poor, or deserted or lonely
I’m not discouraged, I’m heaven bound
I’m just a pilgrim in search of that city
I want a mansion, a harp, and a crown
Christianity
Choosing Christianity to live for Christ places a spring in our step. We work towards walking in love and doing good. Replacing thoughts, purifying hearts rock our abilities off the chart. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We may feel lonely at times, yet, we are never alone. God desires to give His best, in order to receive, we have to declutter.
Reflect
In search of this great city, where scripture describes streets will be pure gold. It’s our choice to believe. Christianity, an image or true commitment? Share this question with your reading club or Bible study group. It’s one we need to consider how daily choices impact our answer. I promise, through every learning experience, Christianity lived for Christ is worth steps taken forward.
Be encouraged!
