Half- Hearted Religion Ineffective- Will Not Save

The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? “I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve” (Jeremiah 17:9,10 NIV)

Opposition

Jeremiah’s messages to top officials were not well received. Individuals do not like opposing thoughts, especially those with high rank. The Babylonians took Judah captive. Half- hearted religion did not save them. Half- hearted religion will not save us.

Half- hearted

How is half- hearted religion defined? Half- naturally we think- 50%. The battle is within- how much Bible do we believe? Half- hearted Christians pick and choose, discounting scriptures that cause one uncomfortable. Yet, cheering on scripture supporting their stance. Amazingly, we see the heart and mind connection once again. Determining what we believe based on feelings will take us on a nice roller coaster ride, leaving us hanging.

Search/Examine

God searches our stirring heart. He examines every mind. Nothing is hidden from Christ. Every action/reaction falls under conduct. Based on our conduct 100% of the time, we will receive what our deed’s deserve. With hearts being deceitful above all things, we cannot trust its stirrings. Relying on God’s Word, believing God’s infallible Word, is our only hope lining up for God’s rewards.

Minds

Using minds as center command determine what is taken captive contrary or moved forward into action. Allowing contrary thoughts to escape without repentance will develop half- hearted beliefs. Sin is sin- wages of sin is death. Scripture states in Revelation 3:15,16 better to be hot or cold, luke warm sitting around 50%- is spewed out.

Hearts

Half- hearted, a heart divided, makes for an unhappy valentines. Worse- when hearts are searched and minds examined, God will see this condition as luke-warm. Dear friends, it’s time to move off sidelines. There is no time for half- hearted Christians. We must work together for all good, awaken those slumbering. Free those lured into deception. For such a time as this- Christians are given fair warnings. Half- hearted religion did not work then and will not work today.
