But now, O Lord, you are our Father, we are the clay, and you are our potter, we are all the work of your hand. (Isaiah 64:8 ESV)
Monday!
Motivating Monday! A great word for today- we have a maker who is eager and waiting to mold us into receiving the best He has to offer. Yes, the world likes us to think it offers the best. Only the best awaits as we are molded into Christ’s image.
Designs
I realize thoughts of being molded goes against all self drawn designs. Without a shadow of doubt, I knew once I married my God-given spouse, we were set with a picket fence and rose gardens for life. Little did I know- this was just a step in the right direction.
Potter Spinning
Picture with me for a moment- an image of a potter spinning and molding balls of clay into beautiful designs. We are not talking about an apprentice. We have the master designer at the wheel with best designs known for unique pieces. Why would we be like anyone else? We are are made unique with individual DNA’s.
Strengths/Weaknesses
Where ever we are in life’s process- stop to think about our own personal design, pulling out strengths and weaknesses. I hope a comment made by guest speaker, Bob Goff, this past weekend made sense to many. God is not calling us to something we stink doing. It may not be developed- yet, will not stink.
Gradual
For me, it has been gradual like a sculpture taking shape. We keep stepping forward- even though it’s easy to drag our feet. I became the nursery committee’s chair person. Taking this form of leadership, I began leading through communicating to committee members. The form of communication came through writing. Did I know where this would lead? No. As time progressed, I became aware of God imploring thoughts and organizing word structure in my mind before typing. Time spent leaning my ears in to take sermon notes, helped me lean in to understand The Holy Spirit’s directions. These were early steps leading to ministry today.
Best
It’s exciting to consider all designs God has unique for each person. Seek Him today- He’ll point you onto lit paths, beyond our realm of thinking. Be willing to see His best in every step. Just keep stepping forward- one day you’ll look back and be amazed!
Be encouraged!
