Deteriorating: Renew Hearts and Restore Value

Deteriorating: Renew Hearts and Restore ValueA cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. (Proverbs 17:22 NIV)

Value

Forward Friday! Moving forward into our home and heart series this week, I see a deteriorating heart in today’s home. No trespassing- left to deteriorate over time. Why did someone decide this home was no longer worthy to be valued? Hearts reach the point of their own no trespassing signs.

Deteriorating

Hearts closed off for various reasons- lack cheerful flow. This hurt causing hardened hearts, we use caution. The level of hurt expands to many years for some. It’s hard to believe there is a God willing to help- when we’ve been hurt and experienced pain. Closing off is not the answer. The enemy would scream- yes! Isolation- desolation- my celebration! The more we allow hurt to prolong with unforgiveness- deeper isolation one’s heart goes, to the point of deteriorating. Hardening hearts is not healthy. It’s known to cause health problems.

Life

Once there was a nice farm home with activity permeating and a lot full of sheep. Every trip to Paducah, Ky- I loved glancing over to this property and see the sheep. Today, no one would ever know this place existed. It’s hard to believe no one valued and now made into tillable ground. I always have to wonder about homes left to deteriorate- lives once lived- families once dwelled, children played, gardens grew, flowers perfumed…life.

Winning Team

Imagine taking down no trespassing signs, softening hearts to understand, and allowing warmth to re-enter. Forgiveness is for our good as much as setting the other individual/group free. With God’s help, possibilities are unlimited. If He can cause our enemies to live at peace with us- He can heal and soften our hearts; never to be left deteroriating. No matter what age- we have purpose every day we breathe. Let’s move forward allowing God to soften our hearts, find treasure within, and strengthen faith. This will be a win-win-win…a Trifecta! Well, I’m not a betting girl. With God, we’re on the winning team!

Be encouraged!
