Experiences: Revealing Purpose- Moving Forward

Experiences: Revealing Purpose- Moving ForwardAfter six days Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. (Matthew 17:1 NIV)

Moving Forward!

Forward Friday! Oh! How amazing it is to be Friday! Better yet- excited for experiences to be seeking more and finding more. Jesus promised and His Word is true. Can you imagine being one of Jesus’s first disciples, personally sharing experiences with Him? Wonder what thoughts came to Peter, James, and John as they hiked up the high mountain.

Experiences

They might have been right on track- for Moses did see God’s glory on his trips up the mountain. He returned from his experiences with God, with his face still glowing radiant. However, a little more would be revealed to Peter, James, and John.

Friendship

As we studied this past week in Bible Study- a fresh revelation came to me. Any time we study our Bible- God sees our desire to learn more. As with any friendship- they are built on communicating back and forth. Jesus longs to call us His friend. He died on the cross to be our Savior. We follow Biblical commands to be called His friend.

Very Interesting…

We’ve discussed the foreshadowing of our purpose. It’s interesting- God chose Peter, James, and John to experience the Transfiguration. These men experienced Jesus’s face shining like the sun and His clothes becoming white as light. Moses and Elijah appeared and this was not all- God spoke. Can we fathom how many times God would like to tell us- “This is my Son, whom I love, with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!” What an amazing experience this had to be for each man. Allowing John to have this experience- his eyes were opened, his ears heard, and his heart understood visions that were to come, creating the book of Revelations. Powerful!

Amazed

What’s happening in your life right now? Are there any stirrings in hearts revealing past experiences to reconsider? Future experiences to anticipate- waiting on God’s perfect timing? His timing is perfect- noting more important than to be seeking Jesus and having more truth revealed. Today’s world is tough, yet, I stand amazed with God’s servants stationed from coast to coast. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9 ESV)

Be encouraged!
