He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth, he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. (Isaiah 53:7 NIV)
Jesus
Jesus. His name is holy. He sits at the right hand of God interceding for you and me. After we experienced a miracle with our two boys, first week back in worship, we began to sing, “I am a friend of God’s, He calls me friend.” You know that trusted feeling when the Holy Spirit is prompting within- like a loud bell ringing. Scales were removed, eyes were able to see, heart pounding…God, you are my friend. If we follow His commands, He calls us friend.
Trusted
Why would anyone choose friendship with the world? Jesus Christ, one with God of the Universe wants to be your friend. As with any quality friendship, trust is expected. Trust is defined as a firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. Can Jesus be trusted? The question is…Can we be trusted? He knows every heart and thoughts within every individual. Nothing is hidden from God.
Friend
What amazed me- Jesus was my friend. He still loved me even though I had been unappreciative of His provision and spent several years rebelling against His will. Isn’t it amazing we can still do some things right in times of rebellion? Sometimes as was with my heart- we want to serve Jesus, yet, not in the direction He leads. However, Jesus set the ultimate example in following God’s will, keeping His mouth closed. It may feel like a few of us have been led to the slaughter…Jesus is the sacrificial lamb, atoned for sins of mankind.
It’s Motivating Monday! No better way to start the week than with Jesus!
Be encouraged! Take time…a few minutes to worship Jesus.
