The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10 NIV)
As we condition our hearts, we begin to understand deeper spiritual truths. Today’s verse is the most profound verse to understand spiritual warfare. There is a thief- his name is satan. He is the father of lies, deepest of manipulation distorting truth enough to make one deceived. There is no one more brainwashed than individuals blowing themselves up to kill others. Interesting those orchestrating tragedies are not ones willing to blow their own self up.
The culprit of all evil is satan. He is here to steal, kill, and destroy. If we reject Jesus to be Lord of our lives, by default- we’re left without a Savior. Jesus came to save the world. God sent His one and only Son to earth, to be born a virgin birth, to die for mankind. When He died on the cross, he paid a ransom for every sin. Yet, not everyone will call Him Lord, therefore led to be deceived. For those following, The Holy Spirit works within guiding us away from sin. When not headed into situations prompting us to sin, we’re free to make wiser choices.
Free to make wiser choices, I need this reminder often. The flip side of satan constantly out seeking who he can devour, surrendering our lives to Jesus leads us to life, life to the full. Some versions of the Bible says it as life abundantly. Jesus makes promises to those who follow Him. He will never leave nor forsake us, He’s our shield and rear guard, He’s our shelter like no other, He’s our friend- if we follow His commands. These are just a few of my favorite promises. Please share yours…
We live in a fallen world. Jesus Christ is our only hope. He needs professing Christians matured more than ever. If we never mature, we’ll never understand deeper spiritual truths needed to help us overcome. In the last days… those able to see, will see signs, wonders, and miracles. I do not only want to see- I want to be a conduit for such things. Why sit back and watch- this can be the most exciting times…if we condition our hearts to understand deeper truths.
