The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied. (Proverbs 13:4 ESV)
Motivating Monday!
Clearly two sides of the coin in today’s scripture. Which side do we land? To be richly supplied or get nothing? It’s all based on the sluggard or being diligent. Thinking back to Friday’s blog, in order for new to spring forth, we’re going to have work to do. It would be nice if supplies fell out of the sky, not likely to happen. This does make me think how water falls from the sky and would be a rich supply for all fires happening in the Western states or farmers in need of rain for their crops. Lord, for all the diligent work happening to fight fires, please supply rain. For every diligent farmer, please supply adequate rain for successful crops around the world.
Work
Any work happening in hearts to let go of hurtful circumstances shared Friday? As I mentioned…forgive, forget and forward we go! I did not say lightly. I know the harsh reality, forgetting will not completely happen. With forgiveness and purging of anything/everything begrudging in our hearts, time will allow all memories to fade to a distant memory. A peace encompasses our being, allowing God’s love to fill our hearts, helping times when need to be around those who have hurt. Most of the time, these people play the victim and see no wrong. Let God work in this area, trusting God, knowing our hearts have been purified, moving forward.
Diligent
As I have expressed writing a book, you see not one has been written. This verse is tapping my mind, heart, and soul. I have expressed need to work out, get weight in likable range…am I there- no. These are my areas, I have to become diligent in order to be richly supplied, in order to embrace my new. Sharing this process…clinching through less desirable workouts, diet changes, prayer times, and sluggard withdraws will take a very diligent approach to get done. Yet, how exciting it will be and I can see this happening- a NY Times best seller written and published, and my desirable weight obtained. Why short change ourselves when God is for us- who can be against us? What does richly supplied mean? It’s certainly the opposite of nothing.
Purpose
Dear friends, what is God whispering to you? Writing is nothing I ever imagined for my purpose. This came through diligent study of God’s Word, life’s experiences, prayer and fasting. Taking steps into unknown territories, like the song, Oceans- take my feet deeper than I could ever wonder and my faith will be made stronger. I assure you- all very true. God is faithful. What He does for one, He’ll do for another. Let’s be motivated to be diligent and get our God-given purposes into action.
Be encouraged!
