Spiritual Warfare: Understanding…God’s Sovereignty

Spiritual Warfare: Understanding...God's Sovereignty“T0 whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One. Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. (Isaiah 40:25, 26 NIV)

Heart to Heart,

When reading from the prophet Isaiah’s writings, the most quoted prophet in the New Testament, words create imagery helping us understand. He was an advisor to the Kings of Judah. This reminds me of Billy Graham’s impact advising many Presidents in United States. Thinking about the team of spiritual advisors around today’s President; praying only God’s ordained, removing anyone with impure motives. Like Isaiah, spiritual advisors, have major impact on course of a nation.

God’s Sovereignty

Lift our eyes and look to the heavens, we can picture looking up, amazed with stars present. And…not one of them are missing. Does this touch your heart as it does mine? God’s sovereignty rules heaven and earth, even when satan rules the air. The devil is limited, unlike God’s supremacy. Yet, when given reason, the devil finds weakened individuals to grip and devour…unless, equipped to understand spiritual warfare. Most people are not- I had been in church my entire first 24 years of life, before God began revealing to me lessons to understand spiritual warfare. This is interesting as I’ll turn 48 in a few months, to think I’ve spent half my life studying and learning spiritual warfare, good vs. evil.

Spiritual Warfare

With evil permeating this world, God makes sure not one star is missing. He loves each one of us, His desire to see every individual call on the name of the Lord and be saved. Yet, worst than ever, societal confusion in place distracts people from Biblical Truth. Some think God is all love or all angry. This is simply not true. God is both love and wrath in proportion to His timing. His love is shown by patience, waiting for sinners to turn from their sin. The devil creates turbulence in one’s brain, saying, “Taste this apple.” Only in our day, it’s forget Romans 1- forget all scripture discussing sin- who wants a list of do’s and don’ts? I do! Sin separates any one of us from God. Deciding to ask for forgiveness, empowers us to turn from sin, resetting our footing on solid ground.

Not One Missing

Not one of us missing from God’s sight or His heart. His Spirit grieves when sin is embraced, misleading others to sin. There is love and forgiveness, blessings and more blessings, when following God’s commands, accepting Jesus as Savior, walking the walk- not just talking the talk. People are hurting, we need to be the hands and feet of Jesus. This begins in our hearts, making decisions to follow Jesus. Just picture the stars and know…

Be encouraged!
