Politicians, Motives, and King David

Politicians, Motives, and King DavidSeven times a day I praise you for your righteous laws. Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble. I wait for your salvation, O Lord, and follow your commands. I obey your statutes, for I love them greatly. I obey your precepts and your statutes, for all my ways are known to you. (Psalm 119:164-168 NIV)

Motivating Monday!

Lord, Congress is in a dead-lock, with so much good happening in our nation; increased jobs, lower unemployment, stock markets an all time high, military support back strong- world wide economic activity is through the roof. Only individuals/politicians who want this stopped, reveal people against America.

God’s Grace

King David comes to mind today for our governor, who’s dealing publicly with a moral failure, happening before his run for governor. My husband believes with any crooked/wayward situation, there is never just one cockroach. I do not believe the case for every human being. I believe in God’s saving graces and if He made known King David’s heart was a heart after His very own, we know repentance happens and forgiveness is guaranteed. Although, there will always be consequences to sin. Without knowledge and commitment made with our Savior, Jesus Christ, we’re left in sin by default, accepting the world’s approach to life, aka- societal confusion.

King David vs. Politicians

King David was different, bringing honor/reverence to God. He praised God’s laws( seven times daily), obeyed God’s statutes(he loved), even with all his ways known to God. When he reached his calling/destiny, God was not left behind. His flesh overtook the mind’s ability to take captive contrary thoughts. A problem we all have from time to time, most not to this extreme. So what do we do about corrupt politicians and ones facing scrutiny for moral failure? If God has forgiven, family has forgiven- corruptive motives need to cease. With God’s peace provided once we align with His laws and statutes, nothing can make us stumble. Now, this is peace worth having. For our Nation, please join all praying Cape LaCroix Church’s focus this week- praying for an awakening in our Nation.

Be encouraged!
