Scripture Declaration, Heart to Heart

Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down, and when you get up. Heart to Heart

Heart of the matter…Reactions to the President’s SOTU’s speech proves personal agendas remain. When individuals are misled into personal agenda ideas, problems stir. As this began noticeably 20-30 years ago, worse 10 years ago falling for a false sense of change. We had change, nothing good for America. I like what one of Fox’s correspondents mentioned- we have a conservative President (Praise God!) and was believed to be a speech on unity, written as why would anyone not think this is a great idea. I felt it was refreshing, except…there is a belief one does not have to work and be takers of government offerings, which leads to socialism.

Work/Ethics

Work ethics date back to Biblical times. The Bible has several scriptures about work, investments, and future planning. Any and every circumstance imaginable is represented in the Bible, through God’s guidance, leading to righteousness and holiness. As with economics, spiritual growth fluctuates- downward trends, upward movements. For most part, as the church struggles with keeping God’s Word- scripture, infallible, movement happens…where churches and Bible studies are attempting to lower standards, adjusting to young adults needs. Because in this crazed societal confusion, and lack of church commitment…more individuals are facing stress and anxiety stricken lifestyles.

Intentions

This can be done with the best of intentions, yet, any time expectations lesson, productivity will decrease. Same will happen within churches. There is a real break-down from when we used to attend church Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night. Now…many people are doing good to get a one hour church service, broken down to worship/offering/announcements and a 30 minute sermon. No way is this enough for an entire week of living in today’s world.

Declaration/Scripture

Back in the day- Deuteronomy’s author made a clear declaration how scripture should be handled. God’s Words are to be fixed in our hearts and minds, Constantly talking about scripture to our children, having scripture available tied to our hands and bound on our foreheads. Now…we’re not going to this extreme today. Yet, having God’s Word fixed in our hearts and minds will be key to overcoming this world and talking scripture with our children, will help make straight paths through societal confusion.
