“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven. (Matthew 7:21 NIV)
Forward Friday!
Let’s not be stuck, time marches on and forward we go! Daily, we’re capable of growing in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding…if, we are willing to seek Truth. Today’s verse- Jesus’ very own words. Chapter 7 is full of valuable information. Verse one- we’re informed not to judge, lest we be judged. Many people take this position, forgetting to read entire chapter. Later in verse 16, By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? False prophets will be recognized by their fruit- not by their sheep’s clothing, underneath reveals truth…ferocious wolves. Many believe same for every individual- their fruit will reveal what’s unseen.
“Lord, Lord,”
While people debate or dismiss these beginning verses, Jesus announces in 7:21- not everyone who says, “Lord, Lord,” will enter Heaven. Why? They have worked miracles, prophesied in Jesus’ name, and drove out demons, yet, Jesus will tell this group plainly- “I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers.” These are Jesus’ words, not mine. Types of motions take action: play games w/God, trust self over God’s Word, define self’s own ideology- many have done, as well as endless attempts. God keeps account of all choices and actions we make. He knows our hearts, looking beyond outside appearances. Only those doing God’s will- enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Truth
How can God’s Will be figured out? By seeking Jesus. Verse 7- Ask, and it will be given; seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you. Where is the door and where do I knock? Simply, ask Jesus for Truth, open our minds to scripture, help us to understand. He is faithful. People disappoint- let’s move forward not letting any person to taint our opinion of God. God is for us- only others can be against us- then God promises to refute every negative word spoken against us, our heritage as children of God. Knowing God’s Word is power- power much needed to stand against evil- to seek Jesus and find….Truth.
Be encouraged!
