Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Many of the Jews believed, as did also a number of prominent Greek woman and many Greek men. (Acts 17:11, 12 NIV)
Motivating Monday!
Every time I write Monday, I’m amazed we are beginning another week. After hearing Mike Huckabee speak last week, I’m confident God’s plan in beginning this ministry five years ago, is God’s perfect timing. Back then, little was known about spiritual warfare, especially in the writing industry. Still today, many publishers avoid straight talk about truth/revelation in today’s world. We can go back to every blog written- even with writing technique improving, all blogs have been God’s timing to write. Many of you can attest as I have received many encouraging notes and comments. I do find it most important, as the Bereans, please examine the Scripture and make sure everything I write is true.
Lesson Gained
I’ll never forget one time in a Bible group, women expressed how they never read the Bible, because they find it hard to understand. I believe another lesson gained by the Bereans, they received God’s message through Paul, with great eagerness. Any time we experience such great eagerness about anything, excitement takes over any inability trying to stop us. Even others can be a deterrent by their lack of eagerness. When the Thessalonians heard what was happening in Berea, they sent individuals to agitate and stir the crowds. Now, I’m not thinking friends go to this extreme, yet, we can be swayed by friends to easily to dismiss studying God’s Word or become eager to study God’s Words.
Eagerly Seek!
Making decision to study Scriptures, is a defining moment. When we do, simply ask Jesus to open our minds to understand scripture. He did this for the disciples, and I know when I became serious to study God’s Word, He did the same for me. He will do the same for you. I believe this with all my heart. Once we begin reading and understanding, we want others to live life the way God is proving to be true, so many wonderful promises. And…the final lesson we learn from the Bereans today, when we eagerly seek Jesus, others become saved. This is a win-win!
Be encouraged!
