Then Jesus said to them, “I ask you, which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?” He looked around at them all (Pharisees and teachers of the law), and then said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did so, and his hand was completely restored. But they were furious and began to discuss with one another what they might do to Jesus. (Luke 6:9-11 NIV)
Furious?
But they were furious and began to discuss what they may might do to Jesus…furious over what? The Pharisees and teachers of the law were well educated and steadfast in their beliefs. Paul once Saul, was from the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrew, in regard to the law, a Pharisee; as for zeal, persecuting the church, as for legalistic righteousness, faultless. (Philippians 3:4-6) The Pharisees truly saw themselves as faultless.
Good vs. Evil
Do we avoid praying for someone because it’s Sunday? No, if a person needs prayer, we are going to pray immediately. This is the point Jesus is making in Luke 6. Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or evil? Are we going to save lives or destroy them? The Pharisees and teachers were looking for reasons to accuse Jesus. Jesus was teaching in the Synagogue and a man was there with a shriveled right hand. Jesus chose to do good, giving life back to this man. He healed the man’s hand. Not just doing good, performing a miracle. And…this made the Pharisees and teachers furious, condemning him for doing good on the Sabbath.
Accuser
We have modern day Pharisees who assume role of accuser against our President. They are educated, well rehearsed in political correctness. And during the O presidency, many became aware of the unidentified/underlying secret government- out to weaken America, in order for world control. With HRC, they were set to enact next level of weakening. Furious President Trump won, scheme after scheme has proved unsuccessful. As good wins, evil worsens. Call this conspiracy- or choose to accept God’s revelation like Saul did, changing an entire mindset over to become Paul, one of our greatest examples of life transformation, accepting God’s purpose; building God’s kingdom, not fighting against.
Tranformation
No matter how much good is being done in our country- major strides in many areas, the accusers are out to stop good from happening by stopping our President. Where God healed a shriveled hand, we need God to heal our country. There are times taking steps back- makes stronger for moving forward. We cannot take care of more people, when people now need help. Teaching how to fish, leads to a life time of fishing/having meals to eat. Lord, open eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts softened to understand. Socialism leads to oppression. A strong economy leads to jobs. I realize with fishing…a can of worms is opened. With jobs, we need stronger education, less control of the NEA, and more thoughts can be added. God’s Sovereign, we can trust He’s in control.
Motivating Monday!
Let’s keep praying God’s light shines on all darkness. As He does, avoid being furious, acknowledge evil for evil, and good for good. When asked, The Holy Spirit will help us discern correctly. As we think about this can of worms…what area could God be calling each one to help? The question: Are we part of wanting good or evil? Are we part of saving lives or destroying?
Be encouraged!
